Untitled (2018)
Untitled was an exploration of pre-loss, fading memory, self, and family. Being one of my bigger projects, it was very physical, yet domiciliary - requiring ironing, hand stitching, climbing, and building. During this time, I was having a lot of conversations about preparing for death and what that means - but truth be told, I had a lot of anxieties about death and the memories that start to disappear forever. What did it mean for the original carriers of those memories? What about myself? Would I remember it right? What if the original carrier didn’t even remember it right?
Untitled became a sort of monument for these worries, welcoming audiences to come in with no knowledge to have a closer look for their own conclusions - for their own new memories.
